The Game of Sudoku

Updated on April 7, 2013

It's how you play the game...

Sudoku is considered to be as one of the most popular puzzle game ever hit the market today. It is basically a game of placing numbers in squares, using very simple rules of logic and deduction. Bunch of kids and adults find it very entertaining and mind-stimulating at the same time. And most of all, you don't need to worry if you're not a Math wiz (like me! really hated math!!) just to stay in the game. It's simple! No calculations and special arithmetic skills required!

All that you need is brains and concentration. This lens will show you all the fun in playing Sudoku and other great stuff...

The Rules of the Game...

One BASIC rule to Sudoku: Fill in the game board so that the number 1 through 9 occur exactly once in each row, column, and 3x3 box.

The numbers can appear in any order and diagonals are not considered. Your initial game board will consist of several numbers that are already placed. Those numbers cannot be changed. Your goal is to fill in the empty squares following the simple rule above.

FOUR WAYS TO SOLVE SUDOKU PUZZLES

1. Fill the grid so that the numbers 1 through 9 appear in each row.

2. Fill the grid so that the numbers 1 through 9 appear in each column.

3. Fill in the grid so that the numbers 1 through 9 appear in each 3x3 box.

4. A complete sudoku puzzle contains the numbers 1 through 9 in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
